Obituary for Carolyn Welchel (Packer)
Carolyn Welchel, age 78, of Canton, GA passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Assured Hospice Care. Carolyn was born in Cedartown, Ga. February 22, 1942 and retired from Cherokee County Board of Education.
Carolyn was a beacon of light in her kids and grandkids eyes. She always welcomed them at the front door with a smile on her face, a warm biscuit and a glass of her homemade lemonade. Besides spending time with her family and her beloved dog Lucy, Carolyn had a passion for cooking, gardening and sewing.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, on Friday, November 13, 2020, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Parker, and Rev. Don Cagle officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 12, 2020, and from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Friday, November 13, 2020 at South Canton Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by, Husband: Kenneth Welchel; Brother: Elbert H. Packer, Jr.; Sister: Betty Cody of Cedartown
Survivors include:
Daughters - Debbie George; Wanda (Billy) Gossett; Teresa Anderson; Bonnie Welchel; Carmen (David) Mock
Grandchildren - Brandy Zimmerman, Heather Rampley, Cindy Tatum, Jonathon Hyde, Katie George, Katie Anderson-Jones, Roger Tatum, Abi Anderson, Jeremy Mock
Great Grand Children - Peyton Butts, Morgan Gibby, Andrew Sackett, Griffin Rampley, Aubrey Tatum, Izsak Luckacs, Kiersten Michaels, Pasleigh Young, Colton Hyde, Maddie Hyde, Dani Hendrix
