Brenda Hales, age 67, of Canton, GA passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.
If you knew our mom, Brenda, you knew that the perfect word to describe her was a spitfire. She was a woman who loved three things fiercely: God, her family, and a good craft show. She knew, from losing her own father at 16, that life is short, uncertain, not promised. Our mom tried to live by the motto that you, ”Live every day as if it’s your last”. She wouldn’t back down from anyone, even at 5’1’’, but she had a heart that was bigger than you can imagine. After losing our home in a fire when we were little, mom learned the sting of losing every earthly possession. She gave everything she could to everyone and any group she could afford to. She prayed diligently, and made sure we grew up in a Godly home and attended church every week.
She knew, that even if you lost everything in this world, God would be there for you no matter what. Most people get dealt one “disease” or major “thing” in their life, and mom had diabetes, four back surgeries, heart disease, and then we got the dreaded “C” word. The cancer diagnosis. Her little body just couldn’t fight any more. She got pneumonia, and went to join her family that is already in Heaven, and rid her body of all of this pain. If you walk away from today remembering anything about Brenda, remember her attitude towards life. “Live every day like it’s your last”. Mom loved big, and she loved her grandchildren more than anything in this world. She fought to the end, even though her life was not an easy one. Appreciate every day and the people that are in it.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Ken May officiating. Per Brenda's request, her cremains will be buried following the Memorial Service at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in the Clayton Community.
