I just heard the news about Ms. Betty. My heart is saddened. She was such a sweet lady. She, Mr. Frank, Mr. Lamar, and Ms. Francis were all my bosses when I worked at the Dinner Deck. That was my first job at 15. I cleaned tables and I loved ever minute of it. They taught me to treat people with respect and they all treated everyone Christ like. I loved how Frank and Betty had that special twinkle in their eye for each other. Even at a young age, I noticed that. They both touched so many lives and will be missed!

What a precious lady Bett was! My parents met her 60 years ago at The Surf Ocean Front Cottages in Daytona Beach. They developed more than a friendship. My parents loved her and Frank just like they were family. Even though our families lived over a hundred miles apart, they remained close throughout the years. Our families were together at weddings, they celebrated births together. (Tammy wasn’t even born when they met) They mourned deaths of loved ones together. They shared secrets together. I am telling you I don’t know of another couple that my folks loved more than Betty and Frank. We lost my mom a few years ago and I will never forget the way Bett cried when I called to tell her. Frank served as a pallbearer for her funeral. Then both her and Frank came when my dad passed away a year and half ago. Now I have no doubt the four of them are shouting on those streets of gold! Together again! And there is not telling what they are up to! I can imagine Billy, Jo and Frank were waiting at the gate and said: HERE COMES LUCKY, as Bett made her entrance through the pearly gates! I still love the Coker’s and will never forget all those good times!

Betty was one of the sweetest, dearest, kindest ladies I have ever known. I met her when I was 13 years old. I thought she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. She and Frank and the children would come into the Skyline Cafe. I have always loved the family and I'm so sad the Betty and Frank have now both passed. Tammy and Roger, you were so Blessed. I love you all and pray for God's loving comfort for you all.
