Obituary for Brantley Knight

Brantley Knight, age 87, passed away March 30, 2015.

Born in 1927 in Clarkesville, GA, he was the 3rd child of Floyd and Eula Knight's 11 children. Brantley served as a missionary in Japan with The Evangelical Alliance Mission from 1957 to 1993. He was a member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church and served on the Missions Committee after retirement. He will be posthumously awarded an honorary Eagle Scout badge. He was known for his sweetness of character, love for people, and in-depth knowledge of the Bible.

Brantley is survived by his loving wife, Helen Hardin Knight, children Philip & Shelly Knight, Vann Calvert, Beth & Mitch Knight-Pinneo; step-children, Elizabeth Hardin, Jane & Larry Martin, Linda Eldridge and Danny & Michelle Hardin; grandchildren Ashley & Noah Groves, Lance & Katie G. Knight, Katie L. Knight & fiance Troy Hyyppa, Ian Knight, Sterling and Natalie Knight-Pinneo, along with 13 step-grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pat Peck, Ginger Bonnette, Jackie Eastham, Brenda Graham and Suzanne Dover; brothers Orman and Charles Knight, and sisters-in-law Nell Brooks, Eva Mae Stratton and Mary Lee Cummins, and many nieces and nephews.

Brantley was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Knight; his devoted wife of 57 years, Helen Stratton Knight; his daughter Esther Joy Calvert, brothers Stanley and John Knight, and sister-in-law Alice Fleming.

Funeral 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 14 at South Canton Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Ernst officiating. Interment to follow in Cherokee Memorial Park.
